Spring is in the air, it is a time where everybody wants to get out and get their yards cleaned up. Yesterday on my drive from Innisfil to Beeton to show houses I passed several people raking lawns. Please keep the below in mind.

Canada’s mortgage rates are rising at a quick pace. It has been over a year since the rates have climbed. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit it produced some of the lowest mortgages Canada’s market has ever seen. As a result, a record-breaking 551,000 homes changed hands in 2020, according to the Canadian Real Estate Association. Now five year fixed mortgage rates are beginning to climb. Those looking to capitalize on the low rates may want to act now, before the mortgages climb further. 

The 2021 Toronto real estate market is at an all time high! By the end of February we had already reached almost 11,000 houses sold which is 52.5% higher than in the 2020 market. The average selling price has been over $1,000,000 which is 14.9% higher than in the previous year. There have also been over 15,000 houses listed this year making it 46.2% higher than 2020.
